| AMERICAN MARINES OCCUPY JAPAN. |
| PHOTO ALBUM OF A U.S. MARINE IN JAPAN & OKINAWA JUST AFTER WORLD WAR II. U.S. MARINES OCCUPY JAPAN AND OKINAWA-PHOTOS OF WORK & PLAY This is the personal album and record of a U. S. Marine stationed in Japan. It begins with a winter bivowack at the Mount Fuji area in winter, snowed in. The marines are camping in tents, freezing cold, but looking cheerful as they play snow ball baseball ! They are with their tanks, and in full combat gear. They take a quick trip to Tokyo and the Kamakura area and take classic photos before the great bronze Buddha statue. They then take a troop transport ship from some port in the snow-bound North of Japan, and snap some photos of Japanese along the way. They return back to Okinawa where nice photos of Japanese Shinto shrines and the countryside are taken. They have a great party in a Jap- anese restraunt with Japanese dancing girls and GIRLS ! They down lots of hard liquor and take memorial photos fumbling with chopsticks as they eat on the Tatami mats on the floor. A great time was had by all the platoon members. They return to base, where a list of platoon members is posted, as the "First Platoon Lean-Mean." Photos inside the barracks, his bunk and locker, on a "march"... A good and surely fond memory of his time in Japan ! Color scans can be sent by email.
